Fabrizio Romano has recently provided an update on the future of Nice center-back Jean-Clair Todibo. West Ham have been heavily linked with the French international since the start of this summer's transfer window, and now his future looks like being resolved.

Transfer Expert Romano, well known for his inside knowledge on transfers, has claimed that record Italian champions Juventus are ahead of West Ham in the race to sign him. Premier League side Manchester United also were in negotiations with the defender. But UEFA's rules prevented this transfer from going through as both United and Nice are owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS.

Now, in a fresh update surrounding the Frenchman with the Italian side, Fabrizio remarked that Todibo is 'keen on the move' in securing a move to the Serie A at this time.

Still having three years left on his current Nice contract, there is no rush for the French side to sell their star defender. However, with Nice's coach, Franck Haise, recently hinting at possible departures from the club, Todibo's future is up in the air. Thus, Nice will be looking for around £35 million to sell their prized asset this summer.

With France getting knocked out by Spain in the UEFA Euro 2024 semi-final, the decision regarding his future will likely be announced quickly. For now, Juve's interest seems strong as they are willing to sell their 19-year-old defender, Dean Huijsen, and the clubs hope to negotiate a deal.

Todibo, who kept 15 clean sheets from 30 appearances for Nice in the French League last season, is said to be happy at Nice, but a move away from the club is looking increasingly likely. On top of that, new manager Julen Lopetegui wants to pair the Frenchman with a new £40 million signing, Max Kilman, to bolster the Hammers back line for the next season.
