Tomorrow is the final day for all the Premier League teams to submit their squads for the first half of the season. Therefore, West Ham will also announce their Premier League squad, which has been bolstered with nine new additions from the summer transfer window. During the international break, there were transfer rumours about the Hammers trying to complete their tenth signing as well by bringing in a centre back on a free transfer to improve their defensive squad depth.

Julen Lopetegui confirms West Ham won't sign more players
"The market is closed and we did the best that we can and we tried to improve the squad in the different positions.
- Julen Lopetegui
And it’s true that we lost Aguerd and we didn’t sign one other centre-back.
That’s why we have to look towards the Academy players too for this position"
Lopetegui also added that the club has decided to consider the academy players as well for the fourth choice centre-back role. This is a great decision by the Hammers to give chances to promising youth defenders such as Kaelan Casey and Ezra Mayers, who will gain a lot of experience alongside valuable suggestions from first team defenders including Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo in order to become a star player for West Ham in the upcoming seasons.
In the next match, West Ham will face Fulham in an away fixture and thus, both Casey and Mayers could be in the travelling squad for the Hammers. Now, it remains to be seen whether Julen Lopetegui's side can take their second league win and get a good momentum before facing Chelsea in the next match.
