Galatasaray interested in signing West Ham star

In this transfer window, West Ham's biggest priority was improving their defence and by bringing in Max Kilman, Jean-Clair Todibo and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the Hammers have addressed their defensive ranks. One player who was a standout performer for the Hammers in the back four is left-back Emerson Palmieri. The 30-year-old is great on the ball and his advancing runs down the left flank create more chances for West Ham's attack.
Emerson joined West Ham from Chelsea in 2022 after making 71 appearances for the two time UEFA Champions League winners. In Chelsea's Champions League winning campaign, Emerson became a key player for them as he would go forward and help the midfielders in the build up play, while also being prepared to recover the ball quickly while defending. This led West Ham to bring the Italy international from Chelsea to the London Stadium for a transfer fee of £15 million.

In his two years at the club, he has been a quality performer under former manager David Moyes and has adapted well to new manager Julen Lopetegui's tactical setup in this season. However, according to a report from Sabah, Turkish Champions Galatasaray are interested in signing Emerson and could submit their transfer offer to the Hammers in a few days as well. The transfer window in the top five European leagues has closed but there are still a few days left for Turkish clubs to make a few additions to their squad.
If West Ham decide to sell Emerson now, they would have to quickly move forward to sign another left back on a free transfer to replace the 30-year-old. Currently, there is no better fullback available on a free transfer than Emerson, and if the new left back doesn't perform well at West Ham, the club will struggle with defensive mistakes this season. Also, Aaron Cresswell is the second choice fullback after Emerson on the left side of the defence, and the 34-year-old hasn't been at his best form in the recent few seasons.
Therefore, West Ham should keep Emerson at the club to have a reliable defence in this season.
