After signing Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme, 33-year-old keeper Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman earlier in the transfer window, West Ham were considering signing a left winger to bolster their front three. The Hammers were interested in several left sided forwards to provide more pace and creativity down the left flank. One of the candidates for the left wing role was Juventus forward Filip Kostic.
Kostic joined the Serie A side in 2022 from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt despite transfer interest from Italian club Lazio as well as West Ham. Kostic made appearances in two years for Juventus and scored goals and provided assists for the club winning the Coppa Italia last season. This summer also West Ham tried signing him, however he has now joined Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce on a season long loan transfer from Juventus.

Although West Ham couldn't sign Filip Kostic, the Hammers have signed Leeds United forward Cryscencio Summerville for a transfer fee of £25 million last month. In his limited playing time in the first three Premier League matches, Summerville has displayed his blistering pace and brilliant playmaking despite the fact that he is yet to score his first West Ham goal. After the international break, the Dutch winger is expected to start as a left winger for Julen Lopetegui's side and play a key role for West Ham this season as they aim to qualify for European football next season.
Meanwhile, West Ham are preparing to face Fulham in a home fixture in the fourth Premier League matchday.
