West Ham are preparing to face Nottingham Forest in the upcoming away Premier League fixture and will want to continue their winning momentum after a last-minute 2-1 win over Manchester United last week. The visitors have started their Premier League campaign on a high note and have only been defeated once in the ongoing season, alongside registering four wins and four draws.
Paul Merson isn't convinced with West Ham to secure consecutive league wins
Nuno Espirito Santo's side are currently seventh in the league table with 16 points from nine matches and are five points ahead of West Ham. Further, in-form Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood has scored seven league goals already and is the fourth top scorer in the Premier League following his match-winning brace against Leicester City in the previous matchday.
However, the New Zealand international could be unavailable to face West Ham due to his foot injury, which could provide a significant boost to the Hammers in their attempts to keep a clean sheet in the match. Still, Premier League analyst Paul Merson believes Nottingham Forest will secure another 2-1 win in this match as he isn't much convinced with West Ham's performances, saying,
"“They performed well the other day against Manchester United. You could say they were lucky, but they deserved to win in the end. I'm backing Forest to win this game.”"Paul Merson
Manager Julen Lopetegui made a number of lineup mistakes in the starting lineup, including playing Carlos Soler in the left-wing position instead of starting Cryscencio Summerville. Moreover, Lopetegui is expected to replace star forward Lucas Paqueta with experienced midfielder Tomas Soucek and start Summerville in the front three after his first West Ham goal against Manchester United in the 2-1 win.
Now it remains to be seen whether West Ham can register consecutive Premier League wins for the first time this season by securing the three points in the away fixture against high-flying Nottingham Forest.
