Patrice Evra is synonymous with Manchester United. However, he did have a brief spell at West Ham United at the end of his career. The left-back made just five appearances for the Hammers in 2018 during David Moyes' first stint in charge of the club.
Evra was signed as an option for Moyes at left-back. Aaron Cresswell was playing more as a center-back in a back three, which had left Arthur Masuaku as the club's main option at left-back.
The Hammers finished 13th that season, and Moyes departed at the end of the season. However, the Scotsman would return and lead West Ham to winning the Europa Conference League.
Moyes had previously coached Evra with the Red Devils after he took over from Sir Alex Ferguson. West Ham was to be his final club, although he did play in a friendly for Brentham of the Middlesex County League in 2020 to help his preparation for an appearance in Soccer Aid.
What has Patrice Evra been up to after leaving West Ham?
Since retiring, Evra has worked as a pundit, where he often expresses his admiration for Ferguson. However, the Frenchman is also now participating in a completely different sport. He now does MMA, and recently told The Telegraph, "I grew up watching Bruce Lee movies and I did some kickboxing when I was a kid.
"I was really intrigued about stepping into the octagon and facing your opponent. Feeling the fear of taking a punch in your face - or not fearing it."
Last year, Evra signed with the Professional Fighters League. He was meant to compete in an amateur event, but it was cancelled. It remains to be seen how far Evra will go in the sport.
Many other former West Ham players have tried different sports when they retired. Julian Dicks became a professional golfer. Rio Ferdinand tried to become a boxer, but was not able to attain a license. Clive Allen became a placekicker with the London Monarchs in NFL Europe.
