One positive of the London Stadium is that it is well connected by public transport. On the whole, it is much easier to get to than the Boleyn Ground by public transport. The queues to and from Upton Park tube station were extremely long on matchdays. At the London Stadium, you do have options of train stations to use.
The train stations to use on West Ham United matchdays
Stratford
Stratford tube station is on the Jubilee, Central, Elizabeth, and Docklands Light Railway lines. This is convenient if you are coming from central London. It is just a 20-minute walk to the London Stadium. You can visit a couple of bars, such as the Cow, around the Westfield shopping centre on your way. However, it is often worth going to the other side of the Stratford Centre to find more affordable pubs such as the Golden Grove Wetherspoons.
Stratford International
A common mistake for visitors is mixing up Stratford station with Stratford International. Stratford International is on the Southeastern network and also has a DLR stop. It is a slightly longer walk to the London Stadium, at around 25 minutes. However, it can be more scenic if you choose to go through the Olympic Park. There is a nice pub called the Neighbourhood to visit if you go that way.
Hackney Wick
Hackney Wick is on the Overground and is just a 15-minute walk to the London Stadium. It is also scenic as you cross the canal to get to the stadium. Some hipster pubs serve craft beer around here if that is your thing. This includes Crate Brewery.
Pudding Mill Lane
Pudding Mill Lane is the closest station to the London Stadium. It is just a 10-minute walk to the ground, and is on the DLR. However, there are limited options in terms of food or drink places to go to if you go this way.
Statford High Street
Another option is Statford High Street which is on the DRL. This is about a 20-minute walk to the London Stadium, and you can stop off at the Carpenters Arms on your way.
Getting to the London Stadium by bus
Stratford Bus Station or Stratford City Bus Station would be the two most convenient stops if you are travelling by bus. They are both about a 20-minute walk to the ground.
Getting to the London Stadium by car
There is no parking at the stadium, but you can pay to park in Westfields Shopping Centre. This is then just a 15-minute walk to the ground. There is a food court in the shopping centre, which has various food options from around the world.
