Michael Carrick
Coming through the youth ranks at West Ham, Carrick joined Swindon Town and Birmingham on two loan moves before becoming a regular starter at West Ham. In his four year stay at West Ham, Carrick made over 150 appearances for the Hammers and formed one of their best central midfield lineup alongside West Ham legend Mark Noble.
After the 2002/03 season, West Ham were relegated from the Premier League but Carrick was among the several first team players who stayed at the club. West Ham reached the Championship playoffs in that season, but narrowly missed out on Premier League promotion after facing a 1-0 defeat against Crystal Palace in the playoffs final.
His impressive performances was rewarded with a £3.5 million move to Tottenham Hotspurs, where he played two years and made 75 appearances for them. After that, the England international joined Manchester United, where he played the majority of his career and went on to lift the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League as well.
After his twelve year playing career at the Red Devils, Carrick also briefly managed Manchester United for three matches in the 2021/22 season before becoming the manager of Championship side Middlesborough in 2022.
