West Ham ace Flynn Downes answers claims that David Moyes must play him

West Ham star Flynn Downes is a new fan’s favourite and there has been calls for him to see him start more matches.
The central midfielder has impressed on outings in the Conference League and may want him to get more Premier League minutes.
Downes was asked if he thinks David Moyes should play him more often and he has responded.
West Ham ace Flynn Downes has responded to claims he should play more.
The 23-year-old was on received praise from Moyes after a stunning performance versus Anderlecht, after he seemed relaxed about his game time and having full faith in the manager, he said: “The decision is in his [Moyes’) hands.”
Downes continued: “I’m loving it, I think everyone knows it was a tough start (for me at West Ham).
“Loving it now that I’m playing a bit more and I hope to play even more. But I’m just seeing how it goes, working hard every day and seeing what happens really.”
With midfield rival Tomas Soucek’s form in question, despite playing better recently, many West Ham fans want Downes in the team for his fantastic passing ability.
He is a hard worker capable of pressing well and never dodges a tackle – plus he is a boyhood Hammers fan and has already built up a connection with those in the stands.
For now, he is still restricted to just European starts but there is thought he can be a great partner to Declan Rice and Lucas Paqueta in the midfield.
Downes impressed again in the home win against Anderlecht making it three man of the match performances in his three starts in the competition.
In the game he collided with another much loved hero in Craig Dawson.
Downes joked about it post-match saying: “Corr, do you know what I didn’t hear him coming if I heard his shout I’d have been on the bench I’ll be honest.
“Yeah I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus, I wonder how I’m going to feel tomorrow morning but we move.”
