West Ham have officially put in a third bid for midfielder Amadou Onana as well as striker duo Armando Broja and Gianluca Scamacca.

The most recent offer to Lille for Onana is believed to be €38 million plus add-ons – making this a lot higher than their previous bid of €23 million at the beginning of July.

West Ham’s offer on Broja is reported to be a deal worth €35 million. Broja joined Chelsea for their pre-season tour and despite a picture of him in a protective boot circling around, reports suggest this is for precautionary reasons.

As for Scamacca, the Hammers have offered €40 million plus add-ons, outbidding PSG’s €35 million plus add-ons.

With the likes of Nayef Aguerd and Flynn Downes putting the ink on paper, David Moyes is still trying to bring in more talent this transfer window.

The Hammers placed seventh last year in the Premier League and were semi-finalists of the Europa League. With hopes of Champions League qualification during the 21/22 season, fatigue and squad depth were some of the reasons the Hammers dropped down to seventh, they were as high as fourth this past campaign.

They dropped points in 12 of their last 19 games. With the FA Cup, their Europa League run, and the Premier League, it was a lot for the Hammers. Their worst skid of games started late into the season on matchweek 33 versus Burnley, where they drew 1-1 at home. They went on to lose four straight games, including both legs in the Europa League semi-finals.

Other than Angelo Ogbonna’s ACL season-ending injury in November, the Hammers didn’t have any other players miss for a significant time.

West Ham are desperately trying to find assistance for Michail Antonio, hinting their interest towards Broja and Scamacca. The Jamaican international was showing his fatigue towards the end of the season. The way that West Ham plays with their one striker formation, it is exhausting.

The Hammers tried different players up top like Jarrod Bowen and Saïd Benrahma, but they aren’t as effective up top as when they are playing on the wings. If the Hammers pull off these transfers, who knows how high their ceiling will be this year.
