West Ham are keen to bolster their attacking options this summer.

The Hammers are expected to make approaches for Burnley star Maxwel Cornet and Montpellier man Stephy Mavididi.

Both are predominately left-wingers but can play in a variety of positions and David Moyes may have to choose which one he wants.

West Ham have both Burnley’s Maxwel Cornet and Montepllier’s Stephy Mavididi on their transfer wishlist.

Montpellier’s Stephy Mavididi could return to England in this transfer window.

Due to Burnely suffering relegation from the Premier League, Cornet is likely to move on from Turf Moor. There is reportedly a release clause in his contract worth £17.5million.

Cornet only signed for Burnley last summer from Lyon. He played at left-back or left-wing back regularly for the French side West Ham beat in the Europa League having been converted from a left or right winger. However, since arriving in Lancashire, the Ivorian was used as a striker in a front two or once again back on the left hand side of midfield. It’s fair to say Cornet can be put in pretty much any position you need him to be in!

He enjoyed a fantastic season in claret and blue despite missing a number of games through injury. The 25-year-old scored nine goals in 26 league matches in the campaign that just ended.

A number of clubs are believed to be interested in him, for example Everton and Tottenham.

As for Mavididi, he had been linked with a switch to West Ham back in January, as reported on our site.

And the Irons are taking a look at him again following a solid season in Ligue 1 netting 8 goals in 30 matches. The 24-year-old is English and was on the books of Arsenal until 2018. He then made a move to Juventus before making the switch to Montpellier in the hunt for first-team football after enjoying a successful loan spell at Dijon.

Mavididi plays most matches on the left wing but can also play as a striker when needed.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that the player could seal a transfer away from the team that finished the season in 13th place in France with a host of clubs interested in bringing him back to his homeland. Brighton, Southampton and Everton as well as West Ham hold an interest in him.

It is clear that Moyes is in the market for a versatile attacker during this transfer window with the club having these two similar players on their shortlist. We also know West Ham are big admirers of Hull City’s Keane Lewis-Potter dubbed the next Jarrod Bowen. Lewis-Potter is yet another attacking midfielder/winger who can play in mulitple positions having impressed in the Championship this season.
