Matchweek Three didn’t go as planned for West Ham, and a lot of FPL teams with Hammers on them. With the break incoming, we look back at the week that was.

Depending on how your FPL week went, this international break is either the perfect timing or the worst. For me, I’m glad we have a week to collect our thoughts. Although West Ham did earn a draw, their recent top performers had a little bit of an off week.

Michail Antonio continued his magical points run, scoring and assisting again, but that’s where West Ham’s FPL contributions stopped. Last week was saw Antonio and Said Benrahma topping the FPL transfer charts and being Kings of the Week. Aaron Cresswell was also listed as one to watch, but things somewhat went flat.

Miggy ended Matchweek Three on the Kings of the Week list again after gaining 11 FPL points, and both he and Benrahma are still on the top transfer list, so nothing to shrug at there. Cresswell earned five FPL points (not what scouts predicted), and Beni ended the week with two points.

West Ham FPL Update | Breaking down Matchweek 3

Pablo Fornals has quietly added his name to the charts of the past three weeks, this time earning seven FPL points, his second-highest of the season. It’s easy to see where the points would land if you watched the Crystal Palace match, and in comparison, the FPL week looked better than the real one.

All things considered, this had been a massive change for many FPL leagues and teams. You can typically pick up West Ham players on the cheap and hope they perform well from week to week. This season, they have gone up in price, and the secret is out.

On another positive note, only Tomas Soucek has found himself on the top transfers out list. Point of note, he falls at the bottom, showing the players’ confidence in him. All in all, it’s been a good three weeks for the Hammers on the pitch and in FPL.

After Tuesday’s deadline day, West Ham also locked in the signatures for Nikola Vlasic and Alex Kral. Vlasic will start his FPL career, costing players £6 million. Nothing has been listed for Kral yet, but as a CDM and a backup, he should be fairly cheap as well. Enjoy the break, prepare your teams, and get ready for MW4 on September 11th.
