Two wins out of two, eight goals scored, and top of the Premier League after an exhilarating start to the season. West Ham has picked up exactly from where they left off as they secured European football at the end of the last campaign.

Monday night’s 4-1 victory over Leicester shocked not only the rest of the Premier League, but Hammers fans alike and made people realize that David Moyes’ men may be here to stay at the top end of the table. Next is Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace, who has yet to pick up a point or even score a solitary goal.

West Ham has won one, lost one, and drawn three over their previous five home clashes with Crystal Palace, so a closely fought contest may well be on the cards.

But this may put more fear into the West Ham fanbase, as they have slipped up all too often when it felt as though they should get over the line.

This doesn’t have the feel of previous Irons sides, however, as Moyes has instilled a grit and determination that have often been so missing in the past. Here are the Green Street Hammers’ predictions for Saturday’s London derby against the Eagles.

Jeremiah – West Ham 3-1 Crystal Palace

This matchup is never one that gets a lot of attention, but it should! Neither team is anywhere close to going in similar directions, but I think Crystal Palace is due, but not due too much. West Ham is too hot at the moment and should easily shred apart the Eagle’s defense.

They’ll have to watch for the counter and Zaha, but other than that, this should be another three points for the Claret and Blue!

Mia – West Ham 3-0 Crystal Palace

I’m predicting a strong performance from The Hammers off the back of an extraordinary pre-season and start of the new PL campaign. Not only would the boys be coming into the Palace game with a great deal of confidence, but the opposition has also struggled under new manager Viera.

Furthermore, with us being at home, and with the noise and atmosphere that was in the London Stadium on Monday, it will only enhance the desires of the West Ham boys. Our attackers are all in such immense form, and I believe Antonio could devastate and hugely expose the Palace backline.

Finn – West Ham 3-0 Crystal Palace

Palace has been struggling to score goals recently, which is the complete opposite to us, so it should, in theory, be a comfortable game. Vieira is still implementing his style looking to keep possession which completely suits our well drilled counter-attacking play.

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham

Jimmy – West Ham 3-1 Crystal Palace

The Hammers currently sit top of the league and have the most goals scored so far – I see this continuing on Saturday. This season, Crystal Palace is the only Premier League team not to score a goal in a competitive match.

I think Antonio and the rest of our attack will continue their red hot form to put some in the back of the net. I have Palace scoring one goal to be on the safe side because teams always seem to break their streaks against us, and we’ve given up a couple of silly goals so far this season.

Alex – West Ham 2-1 Crystal Palace

The performance and the atmosphere inside the stadium against Leicester were special and will give us much confidence ahead of this one. Crystal Palace has got off to a slow start under new manager Patrick Vieira and is yet to score this season – anything less than a win would be disappointing.

Vieira wants to play attacking football, but I expect to come against a defensive low block set up which might be harder for the likes of Antonio, Benrahma, and Bowen to break down. However, our team should have enough quality to continue our 100% record and possibly keep our place at the top of the league.

Jack – West Ham 3-1 Crystal palace

Following our stunning 4-1 win over Leicester City, confidence will be high, and Moyes will want his side to continue their perfect streak. Crystal Palace is the ideal next opponent for us as they are yet to score a single goal so far this season.

As a free-scoring side, this should be a very welcoming proposition and an opportunity that we should be firmly grasping with both hands. It is a London Derby, so Palace will definitely be aiming to ruin the home atmosphere, but I think we should have too much for them. Hopefully, we can get the annual wondergoal against them as well! Antonio, Benrahma, and Bowen all scoring our goals.

Lou – West Ham 1-1 Crystal Palace

I know that all form and evidence points to a home win, but there’s just something at the back of my mind that refuses to be shaken off telling me that we won’t pick up maximum points here.

Our defence still gives up silly and unnecessary goals – hence our pursuit of Kurt Zouma – and we surely can’t carry on our rate of scoring four goals a game. We need to overcome games such as this if we are to push even further up the table this season, and i hope to be proven wrong on this one.
