West Ham head into Matchweek Two on a high, and why not? After a convincing win at Newcastle, they head to the LS to open their home account against Leicester.

We subtlely mentioned last week that David Moyes was without selection drama for the first time in a while at West Ham, really for two reasons. Firstly, the starting XI is solid, and they all have secured their positions well. Lastly, the Hammers are thin on depth, and there is a clear line between the starters and the squad players.

This week will be more of the same, as the Hammers have all stayed somewhat healthy and put on a clinic against Newcastle United. The defense was literally the only question mark, and even they pulled it together by the end of the match.

As the Hammers head home for the first time this season, they will have to face a stricter foe in Leicester City. An opponent that is pound for pound and stride for stride very similar to the Hammers. Where last week showed up mismatches, this week looks very different, but the starting XI should like eerily identical to Matchweek One’s lineup.

West Ham Predicted Starting XI: Déjà Vu for Matchweek Two

Here is how we think West Ham will lineup against the Foxes on Monday night:

West Ham United’s Predicted Starting XI

Fabianski

Coufal – Dawson – Ogbonna – Cresswell

Rice – Soucek

Bowen – Benrahma – Fornals

Antonio

Bench: Areola, Diop, Fredericks, Noble, Lanzini, Yarmolenko, Coventry

For now, the keeper position is Łukasz Fabiański’s to keep, but that might change over the coming months. Even though Diop, Fredericks, and Masuaku are healthy or coming back soon, that back four needs to stay how it was last week and let them continue getting settled.

dark. Next. Where does a healthy Arthur Masuaku fit in at West Ham?

It will be fun to see how and when David Moyes gets his Academy stars’ time, as a few of them (Armstrong Oko-Flex and Jamal Baptiste) have been playing like men amongst boys recently. This weekend should see Conor Coventry with the subs, and that’s exciting. With this lineup in place, the Hammers should gather three points once more, but it’ll be a lot closer than anyone will want.
