A view from the opposition: West Ham v Leicester City
After a dominating 2020/21 season from West Ham over Leicester, this Matchweek Two setup has all the makings of something special for your Monday evening.
Monday’s matchup will certainly be an early-season test for both clubs as West Ham opens up at home for the first time this year. Both Leicester and West Ham are coming off of convincing Matchweek One victories, as well as outstanding campaigns from last year.
Leading up to Monday’s matchups against Leicester City, we sat down with The Foxes of Leicester to discuss the upcoming clash. Besides the match, we briefly touched on the Europa League and their thoughts on how it could all go down. So, how does the opposition think West Ham v Leicester will pan out? Follow along!
Both clubs are in the Europa League this season; which will go further and why?
Wow, that’s a tough one; I really rate the Hammers and the David Moyes project, but Leicester City are almost as identically good. I’ll go LCFC to beat the Hammers in the UEL final.
West Ham took all 6 points last year; what can the Foxes do better to stop that from happening again?
I think West Ham United muscled Leicester City a bit on set pieces last season, as many did. The addition of Jannik Vestergaard will help there. Also, the reemergence of Ricardo Pereira will hopefully assist in stopping your wing threat, too.

Which Hammer concerns you the most leading up to Monday’s match?
Michail Antonio is easily one of the most underrated English Premier League strikers around; Tomas Soucek is a real threat, and from corners, Aaron Cresswell.
Who should West Ham be most concerned for leading up to the match?
Obviously, Jamie Vardy, but stopping Youri Tielemans and Wilfred Ndidi influencing from the midfield may be the tactical shout-out.
Finally, give us your overall prediction for the match.
In all honesty, I’d probably take a draw between the two sides. Although I hope it’s a convincing Leicester City win.
We want to say thank you again to Tom (@TB1884) from FoL for playing Q and A with us. Besides the similar play of the two teams, our answers to our own questions would’ve been very similar. Simply being considered on the same level at LCFC is a feat, and it should all be accredited to the players and David Moyes.
