9th: Aston Villa

I’m sorry Villa fans that Jack Grealish is gone but if it makes you feel any better I think you still had a great transfer window! Leon Bailey, Emi Buendia, and Danny Ings will all contribute a lot to this attack that already has Ollie Watkins.

The Villa defense and goalie were very solid last year and I expect nothing but the same this year. With John McGinn and Douglas Luiz still in the holding midfield roles there isn’t much to complain about. But with the possibility of Watkins, Buendia, and Bailey behind Ings I think that could cause trouble for a lot of opposing defenses. Watkins and Bailey can both burn you with pace while Buendia can pick out a pass from almost anywhere on the field. With Danny Ings up top finishing these chances I don’t see how Villa don’t finish in the top half, barring injury of course.

I know Jack Grealish is as close to irreplaceable as can be but I think they did as good of a job replacing him as possible. Villa should be another very exciting team to watch this year.
