With the new season of the Premier League means a new season of the FPL is upon us. Typically West Ham doesn’t boast top scorers; until now that is.

It’s a new season, and will fans coming back everywhere, who honestly knows what to expect week in and week out. As Fantasy Premier League players scramble to find the best Starting XI before the Friday deadline, West Ham United has more than a few players getting snatched up.

Before breaking down the Hammers topping the FPL, let us invite you to join The Green Street Hammers FPL Classic League. You can find us here, and please make sure you make the Friday afternoon deadline. Now, on to the important part; here are three West Ham players heating it up in the Fantasy Premier Leagues as we speak.

Number 3:

Vladimír Coufal

It comes to no surprise that Vlad is in the top, especially after his breakout performance last season. His is what every West Ham fan wants (heart, passion, grit), and apparently, coming in at just £5.0m, he’s also what a lot of FPL players want for their teams.

Last season, the Czech right-back picked up 128 points and helped a lot of teams reach the top of their respective leagues. So far this season, Coufal has warmed the hearts of FPL players and he currently is selected in 15.2% of the leagues. If you want a cheap, viable option in defense, he is certainly an option that will get you what you need.

Number 2:

Michail Antonio

Miggy has started this season exactly where he left of last year, on absolute fire! Through the preseason, he was everything that West Ham would’ve hoped from their new number nine. As he is eying the Hammer’s leaderboard in goals, FPL fans are eyeing him costing just £7.5m. His downside is injuries, but his upside is points. Loads and loads of points.

Last season he scored FPL users 118 points, and has averages 100 points per year over the last six seasons. Michail is currently being used by 19.4% of FPL teams, and that number could rise massively depending on how the next few weeks go.

Number 1:

Aaron Cresswell

It looks like Cressy is finally getting his due, and all we can say is it’s about time! Last season he was dubbed West Ham United’s FPL king, leading the Hammers in points. So far this season, his reputation precedes him, and he is tearing up the early FPL slots.

Last year Aaron Cresswell scored FPL users 153 points, and like Antonio, has averages 100 points per year over the last seven years. He has been selected by just under 20% of teams, coming in at 19.4%. The best part about getting him on your team may not be his guaranteed success, but more the fact that he will only cost you £5.5m.

Next. West Ham: Repeating history, not in the cards vs. Newcastle. dark

It’s important to note that West Ham’s midfield duo of Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek rounded out the top five, with Tomas being picked on 11.7% of teams, and FPL players have chosen Rice on 4.3% or their teams. The season is upon us, and the FPL deadline is even closer, so make sure you get signed up and be ready to cheer the Hammers on in both fronts.
