It appears that Felipe Anderson has completed his three-year drama-filled adventure at West Ham and will be heading back to Lazio.

The Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, released via his Twitch feed that a deal to bring Anderson back to Lazio was in the works. He is in Rome as we speak about completing a medical to seal the deal. From highs to lows, Felipe Anderson’s time in East London showed it all.

This chapter is the book of Felipe is pages away from closing, and it’s a real shame. The hype he arrived with was massively overproduced, but for about 18 months of his career at West Ham, he was lights out. Since then, disappointment has been the title to everything he’s done.

Another disappointing fact, it that  Anderson is going to be leaving for a lot less than what he came for. Official reports aren’t out yet, but rumors are stating that he will be sold to the Roman club for just around £4m, if not less.

A return to Rome will hopefully see him rediscover his best form, the form he came to West Ham with. After all, it was at Lazio where he has seen his best form and stats to follow. At the end of the day, he needed to go as he had been surpassed by more than a few fellow Hammers on the depth chart.

It was worthless for the Hammers brass to pay such a hefty fee for someone who wouldn’t play much anyway. With Anderson gone, it will clear up weekly wages, but that’s about it since he is leaving for such a nominal fee.

You have to imagine that with him gone, other dominos will start to fall. David Moyes hasn’t been shy about who he fancies and who he doesn’t, and he hasn’t been fond of “dead weight” around the club either. We wish Felipe all the best and wish nothing more but the best for him in his future. We will never forget your night of glove fixing and dribbling with ease.
