The major concern for West Ham has been centered around forward depth. As the Hammers look to secure that, Patrick Schick is making himself hard to ignore.

After the Hammers let Sebastian Haller depart in the winter, they were essentially left with only Michail Antonio to man the front. Antonio did his part for West Ham, scoring ten times and earning five assists. However, this season alone, he missed 13 matches and 65 since joining the club in 2016.

Although David Moyes and Co are doing a remarkable job at bringing in young forwards on reasonable transfers, none of them are ready to take the plunge into the English Premier League. As everyone from the ball boy to the ownership at West Ham watches the Euros and hopes to find the next big thing, Patrick Schick is doing everything right to heighten the senses.

The Czech Republic shocked the world as they moved onto the quarter-final stages of the Euros, and Schick has had a huge part in their success, scoring four in just four matches. In a tournament where one would expect names like Lewandowski, Kane, or Lukaku to shine, Schick has done well enough to outclass even the highest classes this summer.

West Ham: Patrick Schick is transforming into a dream transfer

Before the summer tourney kicked off, Schick was priming his skills in the Bundesliga on a fresh contract with Bayern Leverkusen. In 36 matches last season, he netted 13 goals for the Die Werkself. Leverkusen’s boss won’t be looking to lose him so soon, but with how he has performed so far, there will surely but takers lining up.

West Ham fans have been salivating for a new “Czech mate” to make the team, and why not? Both Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal have been everything and more for the Hammers since their arrival. Although it’s been thought that GSB would be looking elsewhere to fill that void, Schick could be that perfect option moving forward.

The only thing that links the two parties together is Soucek and Coufal’s high praises of their fellow Czech. The way he is playing this tournament makes it hard to focus on any other center-forward rumor that’s out there. If he becomes an option for the Hammers, they better make it happen soon before other interested buyers make their way.
