On Sunday afternoon, the 2021/22 Fantasy Premier League prices were revealed. Were you one of the thousands of West Ham fans who played last year?

Every year, it’s always fun to look back and see how this year’s crop of West Ham players fair compared to last year’s prices. Will Lukasz Fabianski rack up another 133 points in between the posts? Will Aaron Cresswell be the 4th highest defender with 153+ points? Let’s dig in and see whose prices went up, who got snubbed, and even who might be the steal of the upcoming year.

On The Rise

After Aaron Cresswell’s season, it’s no surprise that he has gone up in price. He stated last season worth £5m, and this year he will cost your pockets £5.5m for starters. Cressy is also the highest costing defend for West Ham.

Tomas Soucek is also on the climb up in the FPL world, costing players £6m, which is a million more than last season. The Czech midfielder certainly can work the FPL stats as he is massively dangerous in the box.

Lastly, when it comes to rising, it’s West Ham’s one and only striker at the moment, Michail Antonio. After scoring ten goals last year and ending the FPL season with 118 points, he will start this campaign worth £7.5m. That’s a £0.8m jump from where he was last year. It goes without saying that he is the most expensive Hammer you will find.

FPL Snubs/Steals

When it comes to the definition of a snub, Declan Rice falls into that category. However, Rice isn’t exactly FPL material, so if you want him, he’s only going to cost you £5m. You will also find Angelo Ogbonna, Vladimir Coufal, and Craig Dawson in that same price range. All three defenders have a knack for scoring and assisting, but they just don’t fit the FPLs liking.

Pablo Fornals coming in worth £6m may not seem snub worthy, but with how his season ended, it feels like it. Maybe rather than him being snubbed by the Leagues tallies, think of it as a steal. You can now get him on the cheap and save up for other, more pricey Hammers like Jarrod Bowen and the aforementioned Antonio.

If you are one of the early talked about thousands of FPL players that follow West Ham, keep these players in mind. It’ll be interesting how the ebbs and flows of the season/transfer window will impact these prices. As the season comes nearer, be sure to look for your own GSH league and see how you stack up against the writers here at The Green Street Hammers.
