Andrea Belotti

Over the past few years Italian forward Belotti has been linked with a potential move to London, with the move never materialising…yet.

This season could be the Hammers’ best chance to sign the international – who has 31 caps – as his current team, Tornio sit 18th in the Serie A with the threat of relegation looming.

The 27-year-old will not want to spend his potential prime years in the second tier of Italian football, and West Ham may be a perfect match for the striker.

Belotti has scored 11 and assisted a further six in 22 games so far this season – a respectable return, and even more so when you look at the position of his team in the league.

Since 2015/16 he has scored 10+ league goals in every season, including 26 goals in 35 appearances in a 2016/17 campaign which saw him narrowly lose out to Edin Dzeko (who scored 29) in the golden boot race.

Belotti’s only taste of European football was Europa League qualifying in 2019/20, where he averaged a goal contribution every 86 minutes.

If West Ham qualify for European football, it could be a massive lure in the transfer, with Belotti surely wanting to move on this summer to a club playing in either European competition.
