Manchester United Loanee hopes to make move to West Ham Permanent in the Summer
By Josh Davey
Jesse Lingard is the man of the moment for West Ham since his loan move to the Hammers in the Winter transfer window is eyeing up a permanent deal with the side managed by David Moyes.
Coming through the youth ranks at Manchester United Jesse Lingard was always destined for greatness but struggled to break into the Manchester United first-team due to his smaller frame and stature.
When Lingard did break into the United first-team he was a class act for the red side of Manchester but in recent years has struggled to find the form he once promised.
A loan move seems to have been the answer with Lingard joining West Ham United on January 29th 2021 on a half-season loan which he has taken with both hands playing some of his best football in years.
Since his arrival in East London Lingard has been a revelation for West Ham, scoring four and assisting two in six Premier League games including one against Spurs in the 2-1 win last month.
Taking his limited game time in Manchester and the fact he has been one of West Ham’s best players into account it is unsurprising that the 28-year-old would potentially like to make his move permanent in the summer.
Lingard’s impact in his first six games has been unbelievable but if he was to have a full season for West Ham he could reach even higher levels on course to becoming a cult hero in this part of London.
The news of Lingard wanting to extend his stay at the Irons, has come from the often-reliable source that is @ExWHUempolyee (Twitter) with many fans reacting in the way you’d expect them too, excitedly.
Clearly fitting into the squad, and sparking a friendship with captain Declan Rice, Lingard found his feet with the Hammers on his first game where he scored a brace in a convincing 3-1 win over Aston Villa.
Lingard’s move to West Ham has so far been beneficial to both him and the club as his confidence of old seems to be returning more game by game as he keeps putting out performances worthy of the West Ham badge.
Reports state Manchester United would want £20 million for Lingard which his performances so far in Claret and Blue defiantly warrant and hopefully the owners will splash the cash to secure the player on a permeant deal in the Summer.
