West Ham’s Scintillating Jesse Lingard Attracting Interest From Elsewhere
West Ham loanee Jesse Lingard is attracting interest from elsewhere in the Premier League after his brilliant performances in claret and blue. The Hammers will be happy with how Lingard is playing but will be concerned at seeing other club’s take notice of the midfielder. Especially as West ham have no guarantee that he will be at the club next season.
When negotiating Lingard’s loan deal with Manchester United, West Ham tried to insert a purchase clause but were rejected. The deal still went ahead, and Lingard has fitted in at the London Stadium perfectly. The form Lingard has shown in his four games in claret and blue will have convinced the club that’ll they need to buy him ahead of the 2021/22 season.
West Ham will be in the front of the queue come the summer as it appears many of the players have been taken with the midfielder. Lingard himself has expressed how much he is enjoying his time on loan. David Moyes has also praised the impact Lingard has had on his team and the mentality he has brought with him.
Jesse Lingard’s stunning performances for West Ham are making other clubs interested in his signature ahead of the summer transfer window.
While it seems a foregone conclusion that the Hammers will be trying to pursue the midfielder in the summer, it now appears they won’t be alone. Leicester City have now been reported to be monitoring the situation surround Lingard.
The Foxes will be on the lookout for replacements for a bunch of potential outgoing players. Marc Albrighton, Ayoze Perez and Cengiz Ünder could all be on their way out of the club. Brendan Rogers seemingly has identified Lingard as a potential reinforcement.
Leicester City, unlike West Ham, are better placed for a place in the Champions League spots and that could be a factor in attracting Lingard. If the Hammers are able to match their season achievements then at least the club will be able to offer the same footballing incentives.
Lingard will be the one that decides where he goes, should Manchester United allow him to leave, and with him enjoying life at the London Stadium, West Ham are still at the front of the queue for now.
