David Moyes Happy With West Ham’s Recruitment
David Moyes is happy with the current recruitment happening at West Ham. The Scottish manager is in his second stint at the helm of the Hammers and has made some fantastic moves in the transfer market.
Every player Moyes has signed during this spell has found success at the club. Tomas Soucek, Jarrod Bowen, Vladimir Coufal, Craig Dawson, Said Benrahma and finally Jesse Lingard have all had positive impacts on the squad.
"“The players we’ve recruited recently have been very good and we hope we can continue in that way because recruitment plays such a vital part in enjoying success or otherwise. It’s a difficult task but if you can recruit the right characters for your club plus those already there, they can pass those standards on to the next group of players.”David Moyes on transfers."
Dawson, Soucek and Coufal have undoubtedly been the stars so far from the new arrivals. Soucek is the club’s top goalscorer whereas Coufal has fixed a problem position that has existed since promotion to the Premier League. Dawson, however, has proved to be an inspired signing shocking fans with his brilliant performances.
David Moyes has overseen a lot of improvements at West Ham since his return to the club, including an improved transfer strategy.
These three have been picked out but that is nothing against the other three. Lingard has had an instant impact and could go on to the best signing to date. Benrahma and Bowen have both contributed to the attack but are maybe yet to hit the best form for West Ham.
West Ham have faced many transfer embarrassments over the years. High-profile failures such as Sebastien Haller, Simone Zaza and Jack Wilshere to name a few have all left the club out of pocket in one way or another. Moyes, however, will be hoping that he can keep on bringing in players that hit rather than miss.
"“We want to continue that because it will definitely play a positive part in recruitment. Good players want to see a team who have something about them.”Moyes on transfers"
One key thing that Moyes has tried to improve at the club is the mentality of the players. Many members of the quad have spoken about the changes Moyes has made to the team. The manager is determined to keep improving the whole club. Moyes believes that the positivity due to the team’s results has helped the whole camp.
"“One of the biggest things for me is that the change of mentality of those who have been at the club for some time is making a big difference. I also want to praise all the staff members. It’s so good to see everyone with a smile on their face – it makes their jobs so much easier when the team is doing well.”Moyes on positive mentality"
The transfer strategy has improved under Moyes there is no doubt of that. There is still a couple of questions over the manager’s judgement. Moyes refused to sign a striker in the January transfer window and an injury to Michail Antonio could be detrimental to the clubs seaosn.
