West Ham will be back in Premier League action when they welcome Sheffield United to the London Stadium on Monday. David Moyes will be hoping his team can bounce back after a disappointing cup exit against Manchester United earlier in the week.

Earlier in the season the Hammers were victorious over the Blades thanks to a solo Sebastian Haller goal. Sheffield United have had a tough season and are rock bottom of the Premier League table. Chris Wilder’s side, however, have started to get back on track and have started to pick up some results recently.

The Blades won matches against West Brom and Manchester United in recent weeks. This run of form has closed the gap between the teams above them. Moyes believes that this run of form will give Sheffield United confidence ahead of their trip to London.

"“Sheffield United will have taken confidence from their result at Old Trafford and their performance at Man City recently too. They don’t concede too many goals so they’re always in the game, and they’ve had a little cup run too.”David Moyes on Sheffield United’s form"

West Ham were perhaps fortunate to beat the Blades at Bramall Lane. The Yorkshire side made several chances to score on the day. Their best chance was when Oliver McBurnie rattled the crossbar. The Hammers themselves struggled to break down a resilient Sheffield side, but a bit of magic from Haller was enough for the win.

The Blades will undoubtedly up for the match yet again. David Moyes seems prepared for the challenge that the Blades will pose for his West Ham side.

"“So they’ll always give us a challenge. We’ve got to do a job, we’ve done a job against teams in a similar position recently, and we need to do so again.”David Moyes on the Blades."

This time around West Ham won’t have Haller but instead should have Michail Antonio leading the line. The forward is currently back on the grass after being rested against the Red Devils. The Hammers are much better with Antonio in the line-up as the whole system seems to be built around getting the best out of the striker.

Moyes will also be able to recall Jesse Lingard to the team. Lingard missed the FA Cup match due to it being against his parent club and being cup-tied. The Englishman had a hugely successful debut, scoring twice against Aston Villa. After a flat performance against Fulham Lingard and the whole team will want to return to winning ways.
