West Ham Finding Ways To Win In Unprecedented Season

The current Premier League season is as wacky as ever, however, West Ham are finding new ways to win matches every single week.

It would seem as though the 2020/2021 Premier League campaign is shaping up to be one of the oddest and interesting seasons in history. Between the tightness towards the top half of the table almost halfway through the season, to the current Covid-19 pandemic that is keeping squads thin, the season has been a wild ride so far. Especially for West Ham.

Surprisingly, one of the more consistent things about this Premier League season thus far has been the ability of West Ham to pick up key results against top teams.

After the great 1-0 victory at Goodison Park over the weekend, the Hammers have now grabbed all three points against clubs like Wolves, Leicester, and Everton. These are the kinds of clubs Hammers fans would love to see West Ham compete with year in and year out.

Although West Ham have not had a flawless season thus far, it is very clear to me that for the most part, the Irons squad comes to play every match with an intensity and togetherness that was not previously seen over the past couple of seasons.

This belief, along with some great individual performances so far this season, are a huge reason why the Hammers have been able to stay in the top half of the table. When looking at the Hammers squad, the notion that the team is super far off being a competitive team is far off the mark.

Although there should be a few key areas in the squad that need to be reinforced over the next couple of windows, for the most part, the squad is littered with talent across the board.

The shining gem of this talent has to be none other than West Ham’s two-man midfield of Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek. Both have shined for the Hammers this season and have easily established themselves as potentially the top midfield duo in the entire Premier League!

West Ham have a run of favourable fixtures coming up which gives us a chance to climb even higher up the table towards a European position. With Rice and Soucek locking down the midfield, anything is possible this year for the Irons!
