West Ham are interested in another star from the Championship after QPR sanctioned the sale of promising attacker Bright Osayi-Samuel.

Since rejoining West Ham, David Moyes has urged the club to try and sign more talent from the lower leagues. The club have appeased this in the past with the signings of Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma and Craig Dawson.

Now it appears that the Scotmanager is intrigued by another star from the Championship. This time around it is QPR star Bright Osayi-Samuel. The left-midfielder has become one of the most promising talents in the division since his move from Blackpool in 2017.

Osayi-Samuel signed a three-year deal in 2017 with QPR, but the London side activated an option for a further year in February. This extension means that the player’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season. As Osayi-Samuel is 23-years-old, he will be free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with clubs this month.

West Ham have been reported to be monitoring his position at QPR with a view of making a bargain more for the midfielder. Currently, Osayi-Samuel is at the centre of a racism scandal after he was a target of racist abuse on social media following his goal from the spot against Norwich.

The Hammers could offer the player an escape and fresh start on the east side of London. Osayi-Samuel would also be a good addition to the squad. Blessed with pace, power and trickery, the 23-year-old could provide another attacking option for David Moyes.

It could suit the club better that he may not arrive until the summer. The Hammers could lose ageing attacking options such as Andriy Yarmolenko, Robert Snodgrass and even Said Benrahma if his loan is not turned into a permanent deal for any reason.

With these potential out-goings, new blood would be needed to help fill the already slim squad out. The fact Osayi-Samuel is so young would be an added bonus as he would be able to grow with a new-look squad.

Osayi-Samuel has made twenty appearances in the Championship this season scoring three goals and assisting three more for QPR. Last season the attacker scored five and assisted nine times, and has plenty of potential to improve in the Premier League.

West Ham will have to compete with Crystal Palace for the Englishman’s signature. Should the Hammers be successful, they could snap up a terrific player for the future absolutely risk-free.
