Tomas Soucek was instrumental in the transfer of Vladimir Coufal, and it seems that the Czech has suggested another player to West Ham.
With the January transfer window fast approaching West Ham have reportedly been interested in signing a new striker. The club’s attack is currently at a crossroads with Michail Antonio injured and Sebastien Haller struggling to fit the current system.
The Hammers have been linked to a few different striker options from Olivier Giroud to Joshua King to Adam Armstrong and even former player Marko Arnautovic. Now the club could be looking further afield with the help of Tomas Soucek. The midfielder who suggested the signing of Vladimir Coufal may have hinted at a new target for David Moyes.
Speaking to the Czech media outlet, ČT Sport Soucek mentioned that he is a big fan of SK Slavia Prague forward Abdallah Sima. The Slavia forward has had a brilliant start to the season scoring eleven goals in seventeen appearances in all competitions.
"“From what I see, I have to say, I’m excited about him. His goals are very much simialr to what I’ve been scoring. I’m glad that such a player was found, but it’s not just about that. He shows one-on-one qualities, finishing, just a typical winger,” Souček said about Sima"
Soucek, who has three goals himself this season, also suggested that the current people at West Ham are aware of the prolific forward. The 25-year-old also claimed that he would be ‘happy’ should another player from Slavia Prague be signed by West Ham.
"“I have to say that the guys or the media around West Ham know about him. I would only be happy if another player from Slavia came, but it is still far away. He’s still a young player and he has to prove it. But a lot of people know about him and notice him. Only good for him.”Soucek further added fuel to the fire."
Though Soucek says that a move is still far away and has been backed-up by the President of Slavia Prague, Jaroslav Tvrdík. The President has already told media that a €10 million has been table by a top European club but selling Sima is not on the club’s agenda.
Though anything is possible in the transfer window and stranger things have happened. It has become well known that West Ham owner David Sullivan is a big fan of Czech players because of the success of Coufal and Soucek. It would come as no surprise to see the club try to make a move for the promising forward.
