West Ham Receive Double Injury Boost Ahead Of Clash
West Ham manager, David Moyes, has received some good news this week over a couple of players who have taken knocks recently.
Mark Noble missed West Ham’s match against Liverpool after picking up a small knock. The captain has struggled for game time this season due to injuries and because of the form of midfielders Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice.
The veteran’s injury was only a small knock and could be in contention to play for the side against Fulham on Saturday. Noble has been rumoured to be considering retiring at the end of this season, so West Ham fans must value every minute they get to see him play in the time being.
The other boost for David Moyes’ side is the news that Aaron Cresswell is likely to be fit for the London Derby. Cresswell appeared to suffer a groin strain against Liverpool on the weekend which meant he required treatment for the rest of the match against the Champions.
Though it appears as though that treatment worked, Football London are reporting that the defender should be fit for the Fulham match. Cresswell has revitalised his career this season after a dreadful 2019/20 campaign. This season, however, the 30-year-old has proven to be a solid member of the team’s defence.
The only bad news for Moyes is the fact that star striker Michail Antonio is still injured. The 30-year-old is likely to make his return on the 22nd of November. The striker damaged his hamstring in West Ham’s draw with Manchester City.
The injury to Antonio has meant that Sebastien Haller has been given the responsibility of leading the line for the Hammers. The club’s record signing has aa different play style to Antonio, which could require Moyes to change the current system to get the best out of the Frenchman.
Haller’s time upfront is causing conflict between Hammers fans on social media. Some fans believe he is a good player and others question his attitude on the pitch, either way, he has the chance to salvage his West Ham career during Antonio’s absence.
