West Ham are set to have a busy finale to the transfer window, but one move that is close to happening is an exit and not an arrival.

There was fan uproar earlier in the transfer window. West Ham sold Grady Diangana to West Brom and now look set to let another academy product leave the club. Josh Cullen is rumoured to be close to securing a move away from the London Stadium.

Respected football journalist Nicolo Schira the Irishman has agreed to a 5-year-deal with Belgian side Anderlecht. The exit of Cullen will leave the Hammers short in midfield. Mark Noble and Jack Wilshere are the only recognised back-ups to Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek.

Wilshere is not reliable due to his injury history, and Noble is 33-years-old and has lost his touch in recent times. Cullen had impressed in preseason. Fans believed that this was finally set to be the year that he was given his chance in the first team.

There is hope that the money brought in from selling Cullen will be put towards a new centre-back. The Hammers will have to be quick as the primary transfer window slams shut tomorrow. The main target at the moment is Jonathan Tah.

The German defender has moved to the top of the list after other targets were missed. Moves for Duje Caleta-Car, James Tarkowski and Daniele Rugani have all fallen through.

There has been a lot of money coming into the club during the window. Diangana was sold for £18 million. When added to the income from Jordan Hugill and Albian Ajeti‘s sales, there should be a decent amount available for the rest of the window.

There is the possibility of West Ham signing someone after that window, as long as they are from the Championship or below. This could make a move for Swansea City’s Joe Rodon possible.
