West Ham have multiple areas of the squad that needs strengthening before the end of the transfer window, and the attack is undoubtedly one.

Currently, West Ham only has Sebastien Haller as the only recognised senior striker in the squad. Haller is the club’s record signing but despite the financial outlay on the Frenchman has not been the reliable goalscorer that the club had hoped for.

In Haller’s debut season the 26-year-old scored only seven goals in the Premier League before losing his place in the side to Michail Antonio. The Englishman scored eight goals in the final six games of the season to finish the season as the Hammers top goalscorer.

David Moyes is planning on spending the majority of his transfer budget on strengthening the backline, but there is a low-cost move that could benefit the Hammers. Liverpool’s rising star Rhian Brewster could be available for a loan deal.

Liverpool are currently ruling over England as the current Premier League Champions and in possession of one of the most feared front lines in Europe. As Jurgen Klopp has Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Divok Origi at his disposal, it would be hard for Brewster to breakthrough.

The 20-year-old striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Swansea City in the Championship. Brewster impressed during this time; the youngster scored eleven goals in twenty-two appearances for the Swans.

West Ham are in need of an alternative striker that can play in different systems and Brewster could be that man. Fast and direct the youngster could play as a lone forward even as a partner for Haller, which could bring the best out of the misfiring striker.

Brewster was born and raised in Chadwell Heath, a loan to West Ham could be the best option for the striker. A chance to prove himself in England’s top-flight at his home club could be a match made in heaven.
