No truth in Napoli bid for attacking Hammer
West Ham midfielder, Pablo Fornals, was rumoured to be of interest of Italian Giants Napoli, but no bid has occurred.
Pablo Fornals has a mixed debut season for West Ham last year after joining from Spanish side Villarreal CF. The 24-year-old contributed to eight goals on thirty-eight games in all competitions for the Hammers but was often off the pace in the English game.
The Hammers beat off competition for Fornals’ signature last season, on of those teams as in fact Napoli. West Ham signed the midfielder for £24 million, making him one of the most expensive players in the club’s history.
Despite this investment, Fornals is yet to deliver his full potential in a claret and blue shirt. It is not all the fault of the young playmaker. Fornals has had to deal with a change of country, manger and play in a multitude of different positions.

Even with all of these disruptions for the player’s mentality, Fornals has still shown enough for West Ham fans to want to keep him. That is now looking likely as a reported bid from Napoli has been rubbished by trusted West Ham ITK ExWHUemployee.
The club’s transfer business this summer has almost been non-existent, in terms of players coming into the club. The only significant business that has occurred is the permanent signing of Tomas Soucek. The majority of business conducted by the club has been player sales.
Players like Jordan Hugill, Albian Ajeti, Sead Hakasabanovic and Roberto have all be sold on by the club, as they look to build up the finances. Why the finances are being built up and not reinvested could be for many reasons.
At the moment, some people believe that the current owners are trying to make the club look as profitable as possible to sell the club to a new investor. The other theory is that the club has built back some debt after ‘heavy’ spending during the Manuel Pellegrini era.
Whatever the reason is, for a lot of fans, the news that Fornals will most likely be a Hammer next season is excellent to hear.
