After a stellar loan spell at West Brom, Grady Diangana looks ready and willing to help West Ham excel in attack next season.
There was a time where Grady Diangana’s future at West Ham was a gigantic question mark. He had struggled for regular first-team minutes, and simply was not showing enough to be considered part of the team’s plans in attack. How quickly things can change in football.
Diangana absolutely exploded last season on loan for Slaven Bilic and West Brom and was arguably the Baggies best player as they won promotion back to the Premier League. After dazzling the Championship with pace, skill, and quality, Diangana should have no problem fitting back in with West Ham.
There were many rumours over the summer questioning whether Diangana would return back to the Hammers after enjoying his time at WBA, but those rumours were quickly squashed as Grady returned to West Ham training as soon as the players were called back into work for next seasons preparations.
In West Ham’s most recent friendly, a 4-1 victory over Ipswich Town, Diangana looked to link up fantastically with Sebastien Haller, a player the Hammers need to get going next season. If Grady can be the spark that gets Haller scoring goals, we could be in for a very exciting season.
"“It’s nice for us to have a kind of player like Grady. Everyone knows the quality he hasm and then he went on loan to West Brom and everyone knows he performed pretty well. We are all happy to have him here and we are going to try to use his quality and strength, me most of all.” – Sebastien Haller"
Although many fans are upset about the lack of new signings, Diangana’s influence on the squad will be such an uplift and excitement for the fan-base. He should walk into the starting XI and really show Moyes that he is capable of playing at a Premier League level and supplying the service that our second-year striker needs.
Although the Hammers defence still has major issues, Diangana in attack next season gives the Irons some hope that they can do some serious damage.
