GSH Staff Predictions:

Aaron, Manchester United 1-2 West Ham United

Normally, Manchester United away would be a pretty intimidating match, especially after West Ham has all but clinched survival. There’s always that fear of the players exhaling after playing under pressure for so long, but I really don’t expect that with this midweek fixture.

After writing an editorial for Green Street Hammers on the leadership by example by Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen, I fully expect the squad to show up and continue their great run of form. Clearly Manchester United feels the same way with such an important fixture in their Champions League qualifying as they rested Pogba, Martial, Greenwood and Shaw for the FA cup tie on the weekend.  My prediction is 2-1 West Ham. Adam, Manchester United 1-1 West Ham United

Both teams have been on great form since the season’s return and for that very reason, I think we’ll see a close match between two teams with plenty still on the line. For Manchester United, they are looking for a Champions League position, for West Ham we are looking to climb as high past Brighton in the table; both teams have their own motivations.

De Gea’s form is a problem for Manchester United, and one the Hammers can exploit. With pressure mounting on the Red Devils looks for counter-attacking football and a push for set pieces by Moyes’ team who will likely cede possession to attempt to draw out the United backline. It’ll be a close one, but goals for sure.

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham

Jeff, Manchester United 3-1 West Ham United

Perhaps there is no hotter team since the EPL restart than Manchester United. Unbeaten with just two draws. Their schedule set up well for them to get results, but they’ve still gone out on the pitch and done it. And unfortunately for West Ham United, Man U have a lot to play for in chasing Leicester for the final Champions League spot in the table, so the Irons figure to get their best efforts in this one.

Meanwhile, WHU is in good form as well, but you have to wonder if the big win last Friday that all but assured their Premier league safety leaves them ripe for a let down in this spot. They did beat Man U last September in a victory that helped to paste over problems and prolong Pellegrini’s stint at the club.

It would be most unusual for the Hammers to complete the league double over both Manchester United and Chelsea in the same season.  3-1 to Man U in this one.

Jeremiah, Manchester United 3-3 West Ham United

Yes, you read that, right! I predict that we might just see a West Ham match that involves more than just a few goals. The Hammers defence has looked stout, but this will be their first real test since Wolves or the Blues.

United are a tough side and rolling at the moment, so them getting three goals is no surprise, but really neither is seeing the Hammers get three on the board as well. Look for a back and forth an onslaught of fun, entertaining, stressful football ending in a point for both sides! COME ON YOU IRONS!

Henry, Manchester United 4-3 West Ham United

Like Jeremiah, I think there will be plenty of goals and it will be a ding dong affair at Old Trafford. Manchester United have been brilliant since the restart in the League and have been scoring at will.

This is similar to West Ham (since the Chelsea game) have been brilliant and scored plenty of goals. The Hammers could definitely take advantage of United’s fragile defence and De Gea’s poor form to stay in the game and get some goals.

Unfortunately, I do think United will outscore the Hammers and take all three points, but West Ham should be safe with other results going the club’s way.
