West Ham will hope to mathematically confirm their place in the Premier League with a result over European football chasing Manchester United.

David Moyes’ West Ham side will want to pick up from where they left off after beating Watford 3-1 on Friday night. The Hammers were in fine scoring from putting three passed Ben Foster in the first half of a relegation six-pointer.

The Hammers can also take confidence from their result in the reverse fixture against Manchester United. The Hammers won comfortably 2-0 following goals from Andriy Yarmolenko and a sensational free-kick from Aaron Cresswell.

Manchester United, on the other hand, are facing a quick turnaround. The Red Devils only played on Sunday, in a 3-1 FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea. United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjær did rotate his side as he seems to be prioritising success in the league and qualification for the Champions League.

Team News

Moyes is unlikely to make any drastic changes to the Hammers team that has been performing so well over the last few weeks. Michail Antonio has been on fire since the Chelsea match, scoring seven and assisting one goal so he will likely keep Sebastien Haller on the bench again.

There will be a couple of absentees, Robert Snodgrass is unlikely to feature as he is out with a long-term injury. Ryan Fredericks could be the other casualty after missing the match against Watford, this could see Ben Johnson keep his place at right-back.

The biggest boost from this week is the news that Tomas Soucek will more than likely be confirmed as a permanent West Ham player. The Czech midfielder was signed on loan with an obligation to buy should the club stay in the Premier League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær is likely to make a host of changes to his starting eleven ahead of the match against West Ham. It is more than likely Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood will return to their starting berth.

United must win the match in order to keep their dreams of qualifying for the Champions League alive. If they fail to win they risk falling behind Leicester City and Chelsea and will have to settle for the Europa League.
