After an emphatic 3-1 victory over Watford on Friday, David Moyes and his West Ham squad are essentially safe from relegation, leading to many questions about the Scotsman and his future at the club.

It has been a rough season for the Hammers as the threat of relegation was present for almost half of the entire campaign, but once again, David Moyes came into the club with a job to do. Keep the club safe. Now, for the second time in the last three seasons, Moyes has done enough to keep the club in the Premier League. He absolutely deserves the summer transfer window to show the fans what he has in mind for the team.

Moyes had a way of galvanizing the players since project restart, and getting the results needed to keep the club in the Premier League. He has also managed to get great performances out of some of the players in the squad, most notably Antonio, who has 7 goals in his last 7 appearances.

Moyes was quickly able to identify a formation he wanted to utilize and made some tough decisions along the way. After 3 wins in their last 5 games, now the Hammers can focus on what will be a crucial summer for the club and for the squad with Moyes at the helm.

The biggest issue with the Irons squad right now is an incredible lack of balance and veteran players on high wages. If the Hammers would allow Moyes to turn over some of those players and wages to free up some money and squad space, then the official rebuilding of the squad can take place.

It has been rumoured over the past couple of weeks that Moyes’ plan will revolve around signing young and hungry talent from the Championship, such as new West Ham star Jarrod Bowen. The Hammers are currently looking at a few Championship starlets, such as Antonee Robinson from Wigan, and Eberechi Eze from QPR.

If Moyes is given the summer window that he deserves, he could totally mould and rebuild this West Ham squad into what he believes could be the building blocks of a young Premier League team built on pace and skill. Moyes came into the club and did what he had to do once again, and for that, he deserves a year to put his mark on the squad.
