Norwich VS West Ham: Hammer Blow Could Drop Canaries
GSH STAFF PREDICTIONS
Jeremiah, Norwich 1-1 West Ham United
The up and down heartbreak called West Ham United is at it again. After a convincing win against the Blues, they disappeared against Burnley. Up now, we hold our breaths to see them venture with Norwich City.
This game could and should be an easy one for the Hammers. In winning they could almost help secure their season and finish the Canaries. However keeping that in mind, they’re too tired and won’t accomplish those tasks. After a long drawn out 90 minutes, the match will end with each team earning a point.
Jeff, Norwich 0-2 West Ham United
We are going to learn all we need to about West Ham in the match vs Norwich. All that matters is a win and three points for the Hammers. No excuses, no blame. Since the restart, Norwich has not won a match and only managed to score 1 single goal.
I won’t even claim this is a chance for the Irons to end their streak of matches without a clean sheet…because it doesn’t matter. Somehow, someway all West Ham need to do is win.
It doesn’t matter what starting XI Moyes picks if our fullbacks are no good; the team looks exhausted. Throw all of that out, West ham has to find a way to win this match and basically ensure their safety. It doesn’t matter if that be 1-0 or 4-0. But for the sake of this prediction, I am calling it West Ham 2-0 Norwich.

Scott, Norwich 1-2 West Ham United
Norwich is dead to all but the greatest of escapes now, and have looked poor in their matches since the restart. West Ham hasn’t been perfect but has shown glimpses of improvement, and despite the Burnley loss, we could have scored three from very simple chances, so the leaky Norwich defence is likely to let us in once or twice.
The only issue is that the Hammers are also leaky, and are really struggling to keep clean sheets. The first goal will be crucial.
Adam, Norwich 0-1 West Ham United
Not a brimming with confidence as I was ahead of the Burnley match, but still positive all three points will come the Hammers’ way. Norwich has shown against Watford and Brighton that, despite individual errors, they can be defensively stout and can threaten with limited opportunities. Sure, they’re last in the Prem, but they aren’t a pushover especially for this team.
I think that a front four of Antonio, Bowen, Fornals, and Yarmolenko can bully the young Norwich defence, but Teemu Pukki is looking to break a dry spell, Buendia is an exceptional talent, Hernandez is coming off a terrific game, and the Canaries fullbacks can get in dangerously advanced areas, too. It won’t be a walk in the park for the Hammers.
Louis, Norwich 1-1 West Ham United
After Wednesday’s disappointing loss against Burnley, we really need to be heading into this game with purpose. Norwich have lost every single game since the season re-commenced and look completely vulnerable in defence. We did manage to create chances against the Clarets, but our finishing let us down.
I don’t think we will lose this, but I’m not so hopeful of us taking maximum points either. Our defence is far too disjointed, and I can certainly see the Canaries scoring at least one past us. We’ll probably take the lead, but drop more points in true Hammers fashion.
Henry, Norwich 1-3 West Ham United
West Ham doesn’t have the best record against Norwich when they have faced them away from London. The Hammers haven’t beaten the Canaries since 1973 at Carrow Road. It is time for the club to break this record.
A win would be massive for the Hammers and they need to start the game fast and get an early goal. David Moyes’ side is unable to keep a clean sheet at the moment, and they need to make sure they outscore Norwich.
Both teams are struggling to defend at the moment, so there will be goals in this game. West Ham has a far superior attacking power so it would be nice to believe they will roll Norwich over, right?
