West Ham will carry on their pursuit of Premier League safety against Sean Dyche’s Burnley at the London Stadium on Wednesday evening.
After a 2-2 draw against Newcastle on Sunday, West Ham will be hoping to take maximum points against a Burnley side that for the rest of the season has very little to play for. The Clarets drew their last match 1-1 against Sheffield United, leaving them tenth in the Premier League.
A win for West Ham could see them put some more distance between themselves and the relegation zone. The Hammers are currently sixteenth, four points ahead of Aston Villa (18th) and Bournemouth (19th), and three points clear of Watford (17th).
The match will be a tough ride for the Hammers who have lost three of their last four against the Clarets. The Hammers won the other one 4-2 at the London stadium in 2018. But this year Burnley have the upper hand winning the reverse fixture 3-0 at Turf Moor.

Burnley manager, Sean Dyche, has injury headaches of his own Ben Mee and Jack Cork are likely to miss the rest of the season, which will be a huge loss for the Clarets. The defender and midfielder are very important to Burnley’s defensive game.
The defence may have taken a hit, but Burnley’s attack could be its strongest its been for a while. Ashley Barnes has returned to light training and could be fit enough to make the squad for the trip to West Ham.
Dyche will also have striker Chris Wood available after he made his footballing return for a short cameo against Sheffield United. The return of Burnley’s strikers will surely excite Dyche, Barnes and Wood have very good records against West Ham. Wood has six goals and one assist in his last five matches against the Hammers.
