West Ham has confirmed that Pablo Zabaleta, Carlos Sanchez and contract rebel have all left the club, following the expiry of their contracts.

Zabaleta and Sanchez leave the club in their mid-thirties and will not be the biggest loss to West Ham. Sanchez has proved to be one of former manager, Manuel Pellegrini’s worst signings during his tenure.

Carlos Sanchez‘s time at West Ham has seemed like a non-event, a couple of huge errors in his first few games, and then missed almost a year through injury. This not what was not the desired impact people wanted the Colombian to make.

Pablo Zabaleta however, endeared himself to Hammers fans with his tireless work effort. The veteran defender was signed on a free transfer from Manchester City and scored one goal during his time at the club

The Argentinan sadly became a victim of his ageing years and started to struggle to keep up with the speed of the Premier League, but he will go down as a cult figure none the less.

Zabaleta’s slowing down did lead to an opportunity to young star Jeremy Ngakia. Unfortunately, West Ham was not able to tie down Ngakia to a new deal to keep him at the club.

Ngakia impressed during his brief time in a West Ham shirt, putting in solid performances against Liverpool and Arsenal. The youngster has started to attract interest from English giants such as Arsenal and Liverpool as well as a move abroad to Germany.

With Nagkia leaving the club it does present an opportunity to fellow academy graduate Ben Johnson. The youngster is supposedly rated higher than Ngakia by the club and could feature heavily during West Ham run-in.
