The Premier League has just announced that England’s top-flight football will return on June 17th. West Ham are back and here’s what to expect!

This just in, the Premier League is set to return on June 17th with Aston Villa hosting Sheffield United, and Manchester City playing Arsenal. For West Ham, this means the race against relegation is on and there is plenty to ascertain from this announcement.

The two aforementioned matches were rescheduled due to the FA Cup, but pushing them forward to kickoff the Prem’s restart will have all teams level for the number of matches played. This levels the playing field moving forward and allows for a solid schedule to be released.

It should be noted that there is no schedule released as of yet. For West Ham, the following matches have been missed and need to be rescheduled: Wolves at home, Spurs away, Chelsea at home, Newcastle away, Burnley at home, Norwich away, Watford at home, Manchester United away, and Aston Villa at home.

A few matches to circle would be the Newcastle, Burnley, Norwich, Watford, and Aston Villa matches as must-win games for the Hammers to climb and leapfrog a few teams ahead of them in the table.

What comes with the Premier League restarting is, of course, predictions for how the Hammers will get on and who will stand out once play does resume. These conversations will be ongoing and developing, but with a mostly healthy squad, the Irons can boast a near full power team to throw at opponents once play picks up.

Based off of their performances before the Coronavirus hiatus, the form was pushing on with great efforted losses to Liverpool and Arsenal, and domination of Southampton for a comfortable win. Should this form be regained, the squad’s survival is comfortably in their own hands.
