The Brazilian striker has had a decent first season in the Premier League in a struggling Villa side. Wesley has scored six goals in 22 appearances in all competitions, only one less than club-record signing Sebastian Haller despite playing five fewer games.

Before signing for Aston Villa, Wesley was tearing up the Belgian League for Club Brugge scoring thirty-eight goals and assisting fourteen in 130 appearances. A very good return considering he was just starting his career.

Standing tall at almost two metres Wesley is more than capable of playing as a target man. The Brazilian, however, is blessed with pace making him a very capable all-rounder. This combination is ideal for any club looking for a new striker, especially West Ham.

Still only 23-years-old, Wesley has the potential to become a deadly striker in England’s top division. West Ham is in desperate need of a new striker to either challenge Sébastien Haller for the starting spot or even to play alongside him.

Wesley would not come cheap though. Aston Villa paid over £20 million for the striker and would want to recoup that money back. The forward is currently valued at £21.6 million and Villa would be looking to make a profit on the striker. This would make him one of the Hammers most expensive signings in their history.

The striker is currently recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury. West Ham could exploit this in their negotiations with Villa and potentially lower any transfer fee, although the Hammers should be careful buying any striker that has a record of bad injuries.
