With the current season up in the air, let’s take a look down the road for West Ham because, after the 2021 season, a few big names are out of a contract. So, who’s in and who’s out?

The big names that are in question for West Ham are Michail Antonio, Robert Snodgrass, Fabian Balbuena, and Jack Wilshere. Not to mention others like Nobes and Fabianski. Neither all have been as productive as each other, but they are all coming towards the twilights of their careers.

Many fans would agree that keeping Antonio around makes sense from this group but there is also news of a potential extension in place for Snoddy. Neither Wilshere or Balbuena have ended up as hyped as their arrivals proclaimed, so who says and who goes?

For a question like that, look no further than our partner site, Hammers Polls. Mainly because they are a host a huge majority of the West Ham voice and it’s where the question derived from. On Wednesday afternoon they published the tweet followers who they would keep if they could only keep one out of the four proposed players… the response so far, overwhelming.

At the time that this article is being written, they have had just under 550 votes with the consensus being pretty one-sided. Michail leads the way with 86% and the next closest is McMessi with just 8% of the votes. Balbuena and Wilshere have 5% and 1% respectively.

For clarification sake, I voted for Antonio but it wasn’t as easy as the poll responses might suggest. In a way, you feel for the Paraguayan center back especially after his monster season last year and how can you not feel bad for Jack Wilshere as the great all-around Hammer has been once again plagued with injury and illness.

When looking to pick between Antonio and Snodgrass, you have to look at them completely differently. Antonio is all about on the ball presence and his quick bursts of speed and agility. Snodgrass is more of a set-piece guru with a knack for being a leader on and off the pitch. The split in votes is almost shocking do to the fact that you would want both if you could but alas.

dark. Next. West Ham look to have goalkeeping solidity for years to come

It is clear that the pulse surrounding West Ham favors Michail Antonio, as do I, but you have to ask yourself… Will he stay fit? That answer and the answer to the outcome of the 2021 summer closeout are still to be determined but for now, it seems that there is a clear favorite of who should be kept and who should be let go next summer.
