West Ham weirdly signed an EFL Championship hero a few years back. Now as rumors arise, they need to make sure he is here when needed and not let go.

Reports have risen up from Claret and Hugh that West Ham is looking to offload on-loan striker Jordan Hugill this summer. The former Preston North End striker has been at West Ham since the last time David Moyes was in charge but still hasn’t found a home.

Hugill might be looked at like a failure, but has he really been given a chance? Do 3 games count as a chance? No not really, but where to the Hammers go from here. He has been out on loan for the past 2 seasons and has really taken off this season to a tune of 13 goals in 36 matches.

The rumors from C&H make sense to a point, as the Hammers need to offload some cash or dead weight around the club to help supplement their low incoming transfer budget but Jordan Hugill shouldn’t fall onto the list, even if he’s never been a proven EPL striker.

West Ham realistically has two strikers on their team… Sebastien Haller and Albian Ajeti and have useful wingers in Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen that could help backfill if needed but other than that, no one remains.

The Academy has some young talent making its way up through the ranks but will in no way be ready for the Premier League next season and honestly, the Hammers have must bigger transfer needs than another striker. Case in point, Jordan Hugill needs to stay once he returns from QPR.

A West Ham “fire sale” might be in the imminent future. dark. Next

In the case of a few other Hammers, they just can’t afford to let him go both in a monetary sense or personnel-wise this just wouldn’t be smart. Keeping Hugill will at least let them see who they bought 2 years ago and put the focus on other needs that are dangerously more pressing at the moment.
