As West Ham returned to the training pitch yesterday, some improvement must be made. Let’s look at the what’s and how’s that the Hammers can improve on.

The decision on whether or not West Ham and the rest of the EPL will continue with football this season is still up in the air but for now, some squads are back in training action. The last time we saw the Hammers play, they lost 1-0 away at Arsenal in a “good loss”. They still sit at 16th place in the table so if play resumes, work must be improved upon.

After battling Liverpool, taking it to Southampton, and then barely losing to Arsenal, the first thing is that West Ham must just keep it up. We saw amazing improvements on the pitch when David Moyes switched up the formations giving Sebastien Haller someone to play with and that needs to stay the norm going forward.

Whether it is Michail Antonio or Jarrod Bowen, someone needs to be up top with Seb. The Hammers need to win matches and get away from the relegation zone and so a more attacking front is needed. After all, draws aren’t going to help too much going forward.

The next improvement needs to come from the wings. The before mentioned Bowen seemingly has suited right into the right side but Felipe Anderson needs to step it up down the left. The Hammers world-class attacker has been anything but this season but the talent is there… the desire and will just need to be better.

If it’s not Anderson then either Pablo Fornals or someone else needs to help slide that role back into its former self. As the rest of the midfield and defense look to be pretty well put together at the moment, the last needed change is confidence.

We saw it at times against Liverpool and definitely against the Saints but that needs to stay the norm on the pitch. If Moyes can get the boys going, relegation will be an afterthought. We have seen it before at West Ham and Leicester showed the world that you don’t need the best 11, just the best playing, most confident side going forward.
