The unknown outcome of the rest of the season for West Ham is still up in the air. With that, we look ahead at who’s in or out of the Hammers senior squad.

Regardless of if the season returns or not for West Ham, David Moyes will have some questions to answer with the 27 senior team players. For the purpose of this article, let’s pretend the Hammers still are in the top flight after the summer and looking forward to another EPL season.

Certain positions require needs and others require a redo in order for the club to progress. Starting from the back to the front, let’s work through the team and play a game of who stays at the club and who goes during the summer transfer window.

In the net

Fabianski (In)

Absolutely, 100%, without a doubt he needs to stay at the club. You can probably only count on one hand that amount of times Lukasz Fabianski has messed up for the Hammers. Keep him and let the youth grow behind him.

Randolph (In)

In a much shorter winded answer, yes. Darren Randolph has proven himself both here and in the Championship making him a great backup to Fabs.

Martin (In)

David Martin came to the club as a family royalty. After just a few matches, he has become royalty himself. He may not be seen much next year but I am sure that his presence will still be felt.

Roberto (Out)

Not to discredit Roberto at all, but do we really need to discuss is he should stay or go? Sorry lad, you had your chance.

Defense

Ngakia (In)

This young talent still has a lot to prove and a lot of room to grow. There will be a solid position battle from Jeremy Ngakia if his competition can stay healthy.

Fredericks (In but buy another RB)

This is a tough time for Ryan Fredericks. After coming to West Ham with a lot of hype he has fallen into the injury hole that so many do. Get him healthy and keep him but buy another fullback just in case.

Zabaleta (Release)

Sadly the Argentinians times in East London will be over as Pablo Zabaleta has already said this will be the end. His veteran prowess will be missed and leave the leadership role depleted

Diop (In)

Rumor after rumor has Issa Diop leaving the Hammers but they should do everything in their power to keep him. Allow him another season to continue growing in skill and loyalty.

Balbuena (In)

Only out of necessity and not desire should the Hammers keep Fabian Balbuena. Until they sign or groom a new CB he needs to stay the every week backup at this position.

Reid (Out)

Behind Nobes, Winston Reid is the longest tenured Hammer. It will be hard to find a suitor with his wages and injury woes but Reidy needs to go.

Ogbonna (In)

Angelo Ogbonna is like a fine Italian wine (and I don’t even like wine). With age and experience he seemingly continues to get better and has a few more years under his belt for the club.

Cresswell (In)

West Ham are somewhat lacking an English presence and Aaron Cresswell can keep that in the club. He is the better of the two current LB’s and they need to keep his leadership around for next season.

Masuaku (Out but bring in a new LB)

The constant battle between Arthur Masuaku and Cress needs to end and by selling him this offseason, it will. With his departure the club need to bring in another fullback and maybe one that can play both sides of the pitch.
