West Ham has been playing much better as of late with an emphasis on effort and intensity, but they must focus on starting to secure wins this late in the season.

Over the past couple of matches, the Irons have looked like a side hungry for victory and ready to fight. After losing a heart-breaker to Liverpool, West Ham dismantled Southampton at the London Stadium and should have won a tough match at the Emirates if the attack took their chances. Although the improved effort is refreshing to see for all Hammers fans, the fact of the matter is that the squad needs to focus on getting results.

Wolves are by no means an easy match whatsoever. They currently sit at 6th in the table and are only 2 points off of a spot in Europe. I believe, however, that this match must be the turning point for West Ham to start securing points and flying up the table towards safety.

The Irons seem to have found a newfound focus and energy over the past couple of weeks, thanks to two players in particular that have both added a refreshing fire and life to the squad.

New signing Jarrod Bowen and youngster Jeremy Ngakia have both been the catalysts for West Ham’s improvement over the past couple of weeks. They have both injected a ton of pace into the side, and their fight and hunger to win, not just from an attacking standpoint, but defending as well, has shown some of the senior players in the squad the intensity and desire that you need to survive a relegation scrap.

dark. Next. West Ham doesn’t need “decent” performances, they just need points

If the Hammers are to stay up, it will not only require the attack to be more clinical but will rely on all 11 players on the pitch giving 100% effort at all times. At this point in the season, every match for West Ham becomes a must-win regardless of who the opponent is. The Hammers got close to securing victories against Arsenal and Liverpool, and now must finish the job and get 3 points against Wolves to start our ascendance up the table towards safety.
