West Ham United sadly remain in the relegation zone despite putting in a heroic performance against Liverpool at Anfield on Monday night.

West Ham almost ended not only Liverpool’s winning run but also their undefeated run in the Premier League. Despite the team’s best efforts, they succumbed to a 3-2 defeat, despite leading 2-1 for the majority of the second half.

Meaning West Ham have now dropped 22 points this season from winning positions, an incredibly frustrating statistic when considered those points would put West Ham on 46 points battling for European football.

David Moyes’ team gave a good account of themselves compared to their passenger performance against Manchester City last week. West Ham fell behind early on but battled back through goals from Issa Diop and Pablo Fornals. Liverpool eventually prevailed due to some poor goalkeeping from the usually reliable Lukasz Fabianski.
