The Hammer’s next match is a brutal midweek test against the reigning Premier League champions. West Ham should not hold back and try to go all out for all 3 points.

In a week that feels huge for West Ham United, things got a bit more interesting over the past couple of days. It has been confirmed that Manchester City has been barred from the Champions League for the next two seasons due to FFP violations, and fined for their actions.

This news comes at a perfect time for the Hammers, who have City up next in the Premier League. Hopefully, the turmoil of the situation has some of the City players and management shook for the match.

I think that this news is great for West Ham. It gives the players and staff a bit of belief heading into the match, a match that will for sure be watched by most fans to see the way City come out and play amid the news. However, I think that this match is a huge opportunity for West Ham to show people what they can achieve for the rest of the season.

More from Green Street Hammers - West Ham

When most teams play Man City, the strategy is usually to sit back and defend, due to the fact that Pep’s system relies on passing and possession. Most teams will try to sit back and advance forward on counter-attacking opportunities to snag a late win. I think West Ham should approach the match with a completely different game-plan.

I think the Irons should go all out for the win, even if it means being exposed at the back. Man City is one of the best teams in the world right now, and you normally won’t have much luck against them. If the Hammers really go for the game instead of sitting back, it could spark a huge momentum boost for the club to fight out of the relegation zone.

Rather than sitting back and trying to limit City’s attacking damage, lets really go all out for the win amid all the turmoil going on. I would love to see David Moyes put out a very attacking based lineup that shows us fans that we are really going to try to win the match.

The timing of the match could not be better, and overall, it could be very interesting to see how City come out and play, due to the fact that if their ban is upheld, their final position in the table does not matter because they cannot qualify for Europe anyway.

West Ham has let down the fans a lot this season with some horrid performances. I think this match against City gives our players a huge opportunity to turn the season around. With a passionate, attacking based performance against a Man City in crisis mode, who knows what will happen.
