Sometimes throughout a season, many teams rely on a great attack or midfield to get them results. Other teams harp on strict and tough defending to pick up points. For West Ham United, they just need some luck.

Throughout the 38 game Premier League season, teams will go on runs, teams will have big wins and shocking defeats, but most of all, some teams have lady luck on their side. Not a player or a manager, just the simple sweet taste of getting lucky.

Whether its a deflected goal, a missed call that leads to a chance, or another teams player missing a sitter, luck to some clubs can be qualifying or missing out on Europe. However, for West Ham United at the moment, that luck would be used to save the club from being relegated at the end of the campaign.

Not much has gone right for the Irons over the past couple of months. The team has barely won any matches, is depleted by injury at key positions, and overall is crying out for any kind of break that will come their way. After being hard-done-by poor refereeing and VAR decisions this season, its time lady luck comes to East London and pays West Ham a visit.

Although the Hammers are in a very doom and gloom spot right now on the table, the fact of the matter is that the Irons are still in striking distance of many other clubs such as Villa, Bournemouth, and Watford, who are all struggling mightily to pick up points. All the Hammers need is some luck going their way to pick up a few points, and they will be right back towards shooting up the table.

MATCH REVIEW: West Ham STORM back, get unlikely result. dark. Next

I think we as fans can write off any kind of miraculous comeback this season where the Hammers go on a tear and finish mid-table. However, with luck on our side(hopefully), and a few deflected goals here and there, the Hammers could reach safety this season and try and sort the squads mess out over the summer. So as fans, lets hope the players put in a shift for the badge, lady luck strikes us with a rare visit, and we can somehow survive this season and look forward to next year.
