A controversial one maybe, given that Sakho tried to force himself out of the club at one point before failing a medical at West Bromwich Albion. If West Ham, however, did sign the former Hammer and keep him fit for 13 matches then he could be the difference between staying up or getting relegated.

The Senegalese striker has been a free agent since his release from french side Stade Rennais FC in December. Sakho has had disappointing stints at Bursaspor in Turkey and Rennais where he featured 15 times for Rennais scoring 2 goals this season in Ligue 1.

When the 30-year-old was at West Ham he was seen as one of the last clinical strikers at the club. He started his career at Upton Park with a bang, scoring 6 goals in his first 6 games for the club. The forward could even partner Sebastian Haller and help bring the best out of the misfiring Frenchmen.

Sakho ended his time at West Ham with 24 goals and 4 assists win 71 appearances for the club. In recent history, that is better than most West ham United strikers.

These three players might not be the long-term future, but they would certainly help the club push up the table and away from the bottom three.
